Hard foam boards such as Forex and Vekaplan are made of PVC, a plastic. The boards are light and flexible and can be used indoors and outdoors. They have a white, homogeneous and silky matt surface, which we can print for you using inexpensive direct printing or long-lasting foil printing.

PVC rigid foam – a little material science

Rigid foam panels are made from PVC. The white plastic panels are known to many under the brand name “Forex” from the manufacturer 3A. The white PVC panels are lightweight but still stable.

All panel thicknesses in our rigid foam range are B1 certified and can be used at trade fairs and in public buildings.

Forex and PVC signs are often used indoors and for inexpensive, short to medium-term outdoor advertising.

When to choose PVC rigid foam boards for printing

PVC rigid foam is very light, but still has a high level of inherent stability. This makes this panel suitable for many applications. The UV resistance of the plastic panel allows it to be used outdoors without yellowing. However, you should pay attention to thermal expansion when installing it outdoors. Indoors, we often print photo panels, information signs, toppers and trade fair equipment from Forex. Outdoors, PVC rigid foam is very popular for construction signs, inexpensive advertising signs or all other signs.

What material thickness should I order – 2 mm, 3 mm, 5 mm or 10 mm?

That depends on how large you want your sign or photo to be printed. But also where you want to hang the print or sign. As with all panel materials, the general rule is: the larger the sign or photo, the stronger the PVC rigid foam panel. Here are a few examples of typical applications for Forex:

• Photo & Images on Forex
  If you want to have your photo printed on Forex, we recommend a thickness of 5 or 10 mm. This thickness is ideal for classic image formats such as 4:3, 3:2 or many others.
• Construction signs made from Forex rigid foam boards
  Forex boards in 3 or 5 mm are the perfect choice for printed construction signs . Attached to the fence or scaffolding, your advertising message is impossible to miss for any passers-by.
• Decoration for living and office spaces made from Forex
  The 5 or 10 mm thick version is often chosen for interior use. Decorative items such as key boards, magnet boards and much more can be made using hard foam boards. Both material thicknesses are also suitable for large-scale decorative productions.
• Topper and shelf signs made from Forex
  If you want to equip shelves with toppers, for point of sale or other advertising prints, you should choose the 2 or 3 mm thick hard foam board. These can be used very flexibly. Simply glue them to shelf panels, slide them into toppers or hang them from the ceiling.

We divide larger photos and signs into several individual panels. You can then join these together seamlessly during assembly. You also decide on the shape of the photo or print. Forex rigid foam – 1-sided or 2-sided printed

We print Forex on one or both sides for you. With double-sided printing, the front and back can be printed identically or differently. Simply select “2-sided” during the ordering process and then upload a PDF with two pages in the data upload.

Trade fair use – our rigid foam boards are B1-certified

All thicknesses of our rigid foam boards have a B1 fire protection certificate. This means that you can use our prints in public areas such as exhibitions, trade fairs and much more without restrictions.
